SnipStudio Growth (“we”, “us”) is a marketing and SEO portal operated by SnipStudio, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect when you use SnipStudio Growth, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us at admin@snipstudio.ai.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you turn on two-step sign-in we store an encrypted authenticator secret.
  • Your organisation and business profile: company name, website address, what you sell, who your customers are, where you work, your goals and brand voice.
  • Content you create or import: articles, social posts, ad plans, emails, job descriptions, tasks, notes and files you upload.
  • Credentials for services you connect: API keys and passwords for providers such as WordPress, email, social networks or search tools. These are encrypted before they are stored.
  • Messages to our team when you request an expert service or contact support.

Information we collect when you use the portal

  • Website data: when you add a website, our crawler reads its public pages (titles, headings, links, a short text sample, technical settings and speed measurements). It never logs in or submits forms. See about our crawler.
  • Search and visibility data: keyword positions, competitor websites, answers from AI search tools and public review ratings that we look up for the keywords and businesses in your account.
  • Usage and security data: sign-in times, the actions you take in the portal, IP addresses and error logs. We use these to keep the service secure, enforce plan limits and fix problems.

Information from Google, if you choose to connect it

You can connect a Google account so the portal can show your own search and visitor data. We ask Google for read-only access and only to:

  • Google Search Console (webmasters.readonly): the list of websites your Google account can view, and for the site you choose, the search queries, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position and pages that appear in Google Search.
  • Google Analytics (analytics.readonly): the list of Analytics properties your account can view, and for the property you choose, sessions, users, key events (conversions), engagement rate, traffic channels and landing pages.
  • Your Google account email address (openid, email), so you can see which Google account is connected.

We cannot change anything in your Google account, Search Console or Analytics, and we never see your Google password.

How we use Google user data

SnipStudio Growth's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • We use Google user data only to provide features you can see in your own account: the Google data reports, your weekly progress snapshots and alerts, and the recommendations written for your website.
  • We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles for any purpose other than showing you your own results.
  • We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
  • To write your recommendations, a summary of your figures (for example total clicks or your top search queries) may be sent to the AI processing provider we use, solely to produce that text for you. We use it under terms that do not allow it to be retained for training.
  • People at SnipStudio do not read your Google data, except when you ask us to (for example in an expert-service request), when it is needed for security or to comply with the law, or in aggregated, anonymised form for running the service.

How we use your information

  • To run the portal: check your website, track your keywords, find competitors, prepare reports, recommendations and drafts, and publish or schedule content when you ask us to.
  • To send you emails you would expect: sign-in and security messages, invitations, alerts when your search visibility drops (you can switch these off), and replies to your requests.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, enforce plan limits and fix errors.
  • To improve the portal using aggregated information about how features are used.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show you third-party advertising.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the portal, and only what they need:

  • Hosting: the portal and its database run on servers we operate in Canada.
  • AI processing: to write recommendations, articles and other drafts, relevant parts of your business profile, website findings and figures are sent to our AI processing provider.
  • Email delivery: our email provider receives the recipient address and the message content.
  • Search data providers: keywords, website addresses and business names are sent to search providers to check rankings, find competitors and look up public review ratings. Google user data is not sent to them.
  • Services you connect: when you publish to WordPress, a social network or another service, we send that service the content you chose to publish.
  • Our team: when you request an expert service, the specialist sees the information in your account that is needed to do the work.
  • Legal reasons: if we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others.

Some of these providers process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Where they do, your information is protected by contract and by the laws of the country where it is processed.

How we protect it

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed; API keys, access tokens and other credentials — including your Google access — are encrypted with AES-256 before they are stored. Each organisation can only see its own data, and access by our staff is limited to what is needed to run and support the service.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

  • Disconnecting Google: when you disconnect Google in the portal we ask Google to revoke our access and immediately delete the stored access token. You can also remove our access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Figures already saved in your progress history stay with your account until you delete them or close your account. Ask us and we will delete them within 30 days.
  • We keep the rest of your account information while your account is open. When you close it, we delete your information within 30 days,, except where we must keep something longer by law.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: one to keep you signed in and a few to protect sign-in and connection flows. Your browser also remembers small preferences, such as which website you last selected. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent to our using it (which may mean we can no longer provide some features). Email admin@snipstudio.ai and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy regulator where you live.

Children

SnipStudio Growth is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top and tell account owners by email or in the portal before it takes effect.
